Evergreen.
New light green growth emerges in spring, eventually turning to a blue / green as it matures. Wollemi typically reach maturity at around 12-15 years, when they will produce both male and female cones on separate branches. It is also possible that they will produce multiple trunks over time. During late autumn this pine protects its growing tips by producing a white waxy coat known as 'Polar Caps', which disappear in spring when new growth emerges.
Care requirements: situate in full sun through to shade. A sheltered location is preferable. Can be grown in any soil type, but advisable to plant in a slightly acidic soil with good drainage. Prune if required in spring.
Hardy to -12c and possibly lower.
