Giant Voodoo Lily.
Produces large heart-shaped leaves from an almost white stem. A dark purple, almost black inflorescence (flower) is produced mid summer, when the plant matures.
Care requirements: Grow in partial shade in a free-draining soil. Can be grown in pots or planted directly into the ground. Add bonemeal to the pot or hole where it will be planted. It is essential to feed on a regular basis, which will help with the development of the tuber and it eventually flowering.
Hardy, but advisable to mulch during winter. Alternatively, tubers can be lifted and dry-stored over winter in a cool location.
