A really stunning salvia with slightly aromatic leaves. Produces deep purple flowers from almost black calyces during summer, right through autumn, up until the first frosts. Attracts bees. Can reach 5-6' in height in one season.
Care requirements: Plant in full sun or partial shade, in a sheltered location, and a moist, free-draining soil. Deadhead spent flowers to encourage continual flowering. A hardy perennial in milder locations, but you may wish to either mulch or pot up and store in a frost free location during winter.
Hardy, depending on location. Mulch well or dig up, cut back and overwinter in a frost-free location.
