This plant is monocarpic. At maturity it will produce an inflorescence and will die after flowering, but can be propagated from its many bulbils.
Care requirements: grow in a gritty, free-draining soil and in full sun preferably. 
Depending on location it may take some light frosts, as long as it is kept dry. Alternatively, keep in a frost-free location over winter.
