Cabbage palm. An architectural plant with 1m long strappy green leaves, eventually forming a trunk. In the right conditions they can reach around 5m in height. Produces clusters of white flowers during summer, which are a real bee magnet. The scent of these flowers is quite intense and not appreciated by everyone.

Care requirements: Grow in a free draining soil in full sun or partial shade. Water regularly during the growing season. Carefully remove older leaves as they brown.

Hardy to -5c, but you may wish to protect in harsh winters. If frost damaged they will often resprout from along the trunk and / or the base of the trunk.
