One of the most stunning palms with intense glaucous silvery/grey palmate leaves. These palms are endemic to Madagascar and will grow to around 70ft in habitat. In a domestic setting, much less of course.
Care requirements: grow in full sun to obtain the full silver colour. When re-potting please note that their roots can be sensitive to root disturbance, so carefully cut away the original pot and re-pot one size up and with care. Use a gritty, free-draining mix. We use equal parts compost, perlite and zeolite, which provides very good drainage. Keep soil moist during the summer and re-pot when the roots have filled the pot.
Tender - will not tolerate any frost / minimum temperature 5c, if kept dry. Must be brought inside for winter. Water less during winter (bottom watering is recommended). Keep in a warm and bright location.
